7 Reviews.
This cake has many names all around the world for example jelly rolls, Swiss roll, but in Sweden it is called rulltårta. It is a simple sponge cake which is one of the classical cakes to make when you will have guest coming over. This is the base recipe but it is possible to make it more like a dessert cake with whip cream and fruits.

Yes chocolate frosting on a carrot cake actually fits. This homemade carrot cake with a firm chocolate frosting resembles more the Brazilian carrot cake than the American version. To enhance the flavor even more you can add 150 grams of grated coconut in the batter. If you have carrots at home and have no idea what to do with them why not make a carrot cake.

This is a saffron version of the very popular Swedish chocolate mud cake called “kladdkaka”. This one is a gluten free version made with almond flour and white chocolate. It is prepared in a few minutes and is perfect for a spontaneous dessert. If you want a sauce on the side whip cream fits nicely together with the cake.

A homemade traditional rhubarb custard pie. The pie is especially popular in the region where you can use your own rhubarb fresh from the garden. You can make the pie in many different ways, such as with crumbles, custard, or with double layer of dough. The sweetness of the pie depending on how much sugar you use.

These are small Alsatian Christmas cookies with a chewy inside and a slightly crispy outside. They taste vanilla and almond and resemble small snowballs in the shape and color. You can prepare them a month before Christmas, keep them in a thin box covered with baking paper and they will still taste newly baked.
