This cake has many names all around the world for example jelly rolls, Swiss roll, but in Sweden it is called rulltårta. It is a simple sponge cake which is one of the classical cakes to make when you will have guest coming over. If you like to make your traditional sponge cake a bit different, this recipe is worth trying. To get another version of a sponge cake, why not try adding almonds. It is easy and quick to prepare and the result is a moist and tasteful sponge cake.

Homemade oatmeal cookies are one of the classical cookies for “fika” in Sweden. These are small chewy cookies with the taste of syrup and oatmeal. Fast to do in less than thirty minutes. When you take them out from the oven you can shape them by hanging them over a bottle. To make them more luxurious dip the edges in dark chocolate.

Yes chocolate frosting on a carrot cake actually fits. This homemade carrot cake with a firm chocolate frosting resembles more the Brazilian carrot cake than the American version. To enhance the flavor even more you can add 150 grams of grated coconut in the batter. If you have carrots at home and have no idea what to do with them why not make a carrot cake.

This is the gluten free version of the classical Swedish jam cookies. Traditionally these cookies are made with berries with a clear red color. To have some variation for your coffee guest you can make some with blueberry- and cherry jam as well.

This homemade chocolate Swiss roll is a hit at the children’s birthday parties. The cake is both fun and easy to prepare together with the birthday boy or girl. The bites are not so big so don’t be surprised if the small guests will ask for another bite.

This recipe is a mixture of a pie and chocolate cookies. If you are a fan of both, from the first bite this will be your new favorite dessert. You can change the type of chocolate and nuts so it will fit everyone’s taste. To enhance the flavor even more a suggestion is to serve a spoon of vanilla ice cream together with the pie.
