This cake has many names all around the world for example jelly rolls, Swiss roll, but in Sweden it is called rulltårta. It is a simple sponge cake which is one of the classical cakes to make when you will have guest coming over. Kougelhopf is a dry cake which originates from Alsace in France. It has a brown outside that is covered with icing sugar. The cake is often eaten together with coffee or tea, but can be served at breakfast as well. To make soft saffron buns in Sweden is very typical between first of advent and Christmas. These buns are filled with almond paste, vanilla and butter. Preparing the dough in two steps will make the buns very fluffy and tasteful. These buns are best enjoyed together with cup of coffee or a glass of milk.

Homemade Swedish chess cookies with the classical combination of cacao and vanilla. Guess why they are called chess cookies... because they resemble a chess board ! They are fun to do and you can make the traditional square shape, or why not make them as a circle for a change.

This cake is considered magical because the cake has three different layers, but only require on batter. This might have more to do with science than magic but it is still amazing when you see the result. The cake has a soft fluffy bottom, a creamy middle and a dense top, or you can have it the other way around if you prefer.

A homemade version of dulce de leche is simple to do with a can of condensed sweet milk. It is almost like the one you can by in the store. Best served on white bread simply as it is. Another alternative is to serve it together with salted butter.

This is a sponge roll with a different jam made of the mini plums named Mirabelle. They are typical fruits of the region Lorraine in the north east of France. These plums are mainly eaten as fruit but also very popular for jam or other dessert due to their sweetness.

This is a recipe for a white chocolate mousse cake. The combination of the mousse and the dark almond paste bottom gives a smooth taste. This cake is special in the sense that you put it in the freezer before you eat it. This way it resembles more an ice cream than a mousse cake.

The Swedes are crazy about chocolate cake that is sticky in the middle (kladdkaka). This is a basic one that is common to do. To change it a bit you can add some chocolate both inside the cake, and on top of it.

A dessert pie with no bottom, instead it have crumbles on the top. You can make it with any berries or fruits that you like. It is very good to serve the pie medium warm together with vanilla sauce or vannilla ice cream.
