5 Reviews.
This cake has many names all around the world for example jelly rolls, Swiss roll, but in Sweden it is called rulltårta. It is a simple sponge cake which is one of the classical cakes to make when you will have guest coming over. This is the base recipe but it is possible to make it more like a dessert cake with whip cream and fruits.

This is a homemade recipe of the classical Alsatian Christmas cookies bredele with hazelnuts. They are so easy and delicious, so it is almost impossible not to prepare twice as many the next time you make them. You can make them in any shape you like but the flat round ones are the typical way to make them.

These bredele resemble snowballs both in the appearance and color. These cookies are dry and crumbly with a taste of vanilla. To make the cookies even more tasteful you can use real vanilla. You can keep the dough in the freezer up to two month, this way you can make them again.

To make soft saffron buns in Sweden is very typical between first of advent and Christmas. These buns are filled with almond paste, vanilla and butter. Preparing the dough in two steps will make the buns very fluffy and tasteful. These buns are best enjoyed together with cup of coffee or a glass of milk.

The Swedes are crazy about chocolate cake that is sticky in the middle (kladdkaka). This is a basic one that is common to do. To change it a bit you can add some chocolate both inside the cake, and on top of it.
